@AnneSelviePhotos Our office is open–by appointment only–between 10am and 5pm Tuesday through Saturday. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.

We schedule photo sessions on Friday, and Saturday. Session times start at 1:30pm and Saturday times are starting at 8:45am.  We schedule outside of these times on a case-by-case basis.


How do I schedule a session? 

Sessions are scheduled by appointment. To start the process go to our 'Book a Session'

We offer a limited number of photo sessions each week; your sitting fee reserves your session. This sitting fee is non-refundable, but should you be unable to attend your session and provide 24 hours notice, we will issue a transferable gift certificate or reschedule your session.

Well, simply because it is CUSTOM. I take time with each of my clients to ensure they are comfortable and the final images are unique. Which is why we have a pre-session consult to discuss the time and day of the session, any custom retouching, and reason for the session (celebrating, updating head shots, etc).  Every decision is made so that you look and feel your best! 

Does every client need a pre-session consult?

Yes, the consultation is a key part of your custom experience at Anne Selvie Photography. This is where we will get to know you and begin to plan out every detail of your experience. The consultation is relaxing and fun, and will help you start to envision your story as we bring it to life.

What happens if I need to reschedule my session (or an appointment)?

We understand that sometimes unexpected emergencies arise that will prevent you from keeping your original scheduled appointment (such as illness, weather or travel issues, or other emergency situations). If this happens, we ask that you email us a minimum of 48 hours prior to the scheduled date in order for us to be able to reschedule.

We are able to provide a one-time reschedule if you notify us a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment. Additional reschedules will require a fee of $150 per occurrence, and are subject to schedule availability.

Your session fee is non-refundable, however you may apply it towards your rescheduled date if completed within 6 months of the original date.

Do you have a style? 

I am a fashion, lifestyle photographer. I love to tell a story. It is what moves me. I look for emotions and those subtle personal moments. I want people to look at my images and really feel something! I want you to see you at your best. I love using unique perspectives, angles, compositions and artistic post-production refining to bring out our clients personalities and beauty while telling their story. We pride ourselves on not just being photographers, but rather artists creating unique and expressive imagery.

Do you photograph newborns or events?
Unfortunately I do not offer newborn or event photography services (other than small weddings) but I do know of wonderful local photographers that do, so I will be happy to refer you! If you’re interested in photos of your little one, I begin to work with babies @AnneSelviePhotos around 6 months of age.

What's the difference between lifestyle and business photos?
Honestly.  nothing. The style of my work is the same, so the photos will have a similar candid look - tailored to fit your needs. The difference is however is what’s included in the package. Headshot/business photo pricing is all inclusive, it includes high-resolution files. Most professionals need the digital files for use on social media, print marketing materials, websites, etc so they are included in the initial package price.

Lifestyle packages are priced differently with a session fee and prints or digital files are purchased separately.

Can we bring out pet to the session?

Of course!!  We just appreciate knowing ahead of time so we can arrange to meet your furry friend, briefly, before the photo session. 

When will I get to see the images from my session?

When you book your experience at Anne Selvie Photography, we will be booking 3 dates at this time:

  • The consultation
  • The session date
  • Delivery of final images (CD)

This final delivery or pick-up appointment is typically scheduled 7-14 days after your session.

Do you include every image you take in our gallery?

No, we do not. We eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. For example, because we shoot different angles, sometimes we take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus. We don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the sharpest focus, so we spend hours doing that on our end. In another example, candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images from the day. Unfortunately, they can also yield some unflattering facial expressions. We might snap a few extras of any of these moments to make sure we have a great shot with the ideal expression for the moment. With our expertise of processing thousands of images each year, we may eliminate ones that we feel are duplicates and only deliver the best one.

Why are digital files so much?
Digital files are the highest priced item because they are the most valuable and versatile purchase. With your purchase, you receive a print release and can make prints (from wallet to poster size), canvas/wall art, photo books, key chains, mugs, notebooks, pillows, etc at any time in the future. Once you have your high-resolution files, you have no reason to come back to your photographer since you’re able to make prints/ products from those files yourself. With that being the case, the high-resolution digital files are priced accordingly considering their value  @AnneSelviePhotos

What is the difference between basic and custom retouching? and why are there additional costs for custom retouch?

Basic post-production includes touch-ups such as removal of blemishes, removal of bags under eyes, removal of fly-away hairs, etc. On the other hand, custom post production is anything that requires extensive, custom work in Photoshop such as removing entire objects from the scene, changing the size and shape of body parts or other objects in the scene, adding objects to a scene and other custom work. We charge hourly for the custom post production as the time required ranges depending on the complexity of the project. Please contact me directly for a quote for custom post-production touch-ups.

How long do you keep my images?

All images are archived for a period of one (1) year from the date of the session. 

All images remain property of Anne Selvie Photography and Anne Selvie, and are protected under U.S. Federal Copyright Laws. Duplication in part or in whole (including, but not limited to, scanning or reprinting) is strictly prohibited and may incur fines up to $10,000 per image as defined by law.

This includes posting scanned images that were not provided to you by Anne Selvie Photography to social media sites.
